It was all fun, excitement and jubilation at the Lions League game week three as inaugural champions Kashoro managed to get their first win of the season beating Shimba 3:0. Goals from Frank, Job and FulJ saw them record their highest score in the last four seasons. Shimba remains winless seated at the bottom of the table with a -12 goal difference.
In another thrilling match, Kachanchali came from two goals behind to secure a draw against SC Kalele. Despite conceding two early goals, Kachanchali later on in the game outsmarted Kalele and posed a real threat to their opponents. Kachanchali now seats 7th with 4 points from two games and seems there is much more to expect from them this season.
Former champions Abashweki mauled two time finalists Kajogo 6:1 in the “battle of the talkers” to get their first win of the season. Aaron Ndahura who joined them this season from Jabulani was on target as he put 4 goals past the unconvincingly poor Kajogo defence.
Meanwhile Jabulani recorded their third straight draw of the season in a 0-0 match against struggling Omujuma who recorded their first point of the season.
Season 8 champions Kabali entered the derby of the day as favorites and didn’t disappoint as they put 4 past Kisyanga who managed to get themselves two goals. Braces from Marvin and Simon HP helped Kabali strengthen their grip on their quest to add on another trophy continues by moving just two points behind table leaders Ebicuncu.
Ebicuncu was able to see off noisy Mugudu 3:1 making it the team to have conceded the most number of goals this season. Mugudu now seats second to the bottom with zero points and a superior goal difference than bottom placed Shimba.
Abazibu were handled a surprise loss as they failed to contain team Boshe despite a brace from Jamaican. Goals from Darius Muhanguzi and Amos Mumbere's brace ensured the team attained their first win of the season. On the other end Ronaldo’s brace (not CR) saw Kafubs hand Machando a loss as they continued their best start to the season.
Notably, the Bweras FC schooled defending champions Nshera 5:0 as they maintained their unbeaten run since making their maiden Ntare League debut last season.
Ebicuncu now sit top of the table with three games into the season and more action in the JUMIA sponsored league alongside other partners Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), Peakshots Photography and NXT Radio continues next Sunday at Kings Park Arena.
