Bwera–Ntare Brown Monochrome Brunch Brings Alumni Together in Stylish Reunion at The Villa Bukoto
Bukoto’s vibrant streets buzzed with excitement on Saturday, March 7, as alumni from Ntare School and Bweranyangi Girls’ Secondary School converged for the highly anticipated Bwera–Ntare Brunch. This lively annual event continues to strengthen the bonds between the two schools’ alumni communities.
Hosted at The Villa Bukoto in Kampala, the brunch attracted a large turnout of alumni from various generations, all eager to reconnect, celebrate shared memories, and enjoy an afternoon of delicious food and captivating music. By midday, the unusually busy roads leading to Bukoto were noticeably congested , a clear indicator of the immense excitement drawing “The Lions” and “Egrets” to the venue. Motorists and boda-boda riders alike navigated slower-than-usual traffic, all heading toward the stylish gathering.

A striking highlight of this year’s brunch was the elegant brown monochrome dress code. Guests embraced the theme with flair, showcasing outfits in diverse shades of brown ,from rich chocolate and espresso to lighter caramel and beige. This coordinated palette created a warm, sophisticated ambiance that perfectly complemented the relaxed brunch setting. The fashion statement quickly became a focal point, with alumni posing for photos and complimenting each other’s sartorial choices, transforming the venue into a vibrant display of style.

Inside The Villa Bukoto’s beautiful gardens and dining spaces, laughter and lively conversations filled the air. Former classmates, some reuniting after years apart, swapped stories from their school days and caught up on their careers and personal journeys. Music from past decades deepened the nostalgic mood, occasionally drawing guests onto the dance floor and amplifying the day’s celebratory spirit.

For many, the brunch was more than just a social gathering; it was an opportunity to relive the camaraderie that defined their school years while celebrating the diverse paths their lives have taken since graduation. “Meeting people you last saw in school corridors years ago reminds you how strong these bonds really are,” shared Derrick Nahumuza.

Beyond the social aspect, the brunch also served as a valuable networking platform. Alumni from various professional fields used the gathering to reconnect professionally, mentor younger graduates, and explore potential collaborations. As guests settled into the brunch experience, a delectable array of food and refreshing drinks further enhanced the afternoon’s relaxed atmosphere. Conversations flowed effortlessly across tables, covering updates on careers, families, and shared ambitions.

As evening descended upon Kampala, the brunch smoothly transitioned into an energetic night celebration. The Villa Bukoto came alive with vibrant music and dynamic live band performances, drawing alumni onto the dance floor and extending the reunion well into the night. The sound of classic hits, spirited instruments, and cheerful voices created a festive mood that perfectly captured the essence of the gathering.

Ultimately, the Bwera–Ntare Brunch transcended a mere daytime meet-up; it evolved into a full-fledged celebration of friendship, music, and cherished memories. As the final songs played and guests slowly departed, the event left behind a powerful reminder of the enduring bond between the alumni of Ntare School and Bweranyangi Girls’ Secondary School.
