Crowning Glory : Season 15 of the Ntare Lions League Comes to a Triumphant Close
As the sun set on another exhilarating season of the Ntare Lions League, Season 15 concluded in style with the much-anticipated awards ceremony celebrating the heroes, heart, and highlights that defined this year’s action. In addition to Ty Omujuma clinching the most prestigious award of the day — the League Shield, these are the other winners who lit up the season with unforgettable performances.
From standout goalkeeping displays to midfield maestros and even strategic battles of wits on the chessboard, this season had it all.
Team of the Season: A Star-Studded XI
There was no shortage of individual brilliance this season, and the Team of the Season reflects a lineup packed with grit, flair, and consistency. In goal, Akashaba Andrew of SC Kalele proved to be the ultimate guardian, commanding his box with poise.

Kagwisagye Phillip had a season to remember, bagging both the Top Scorer and Playmaker of the Season accolades—an elite double that highlighted his all-around threat. His contributions were key to Ty Omujuma’s attacking prowess.
In goal, it was all about consistency and reflexes, and none did it better than Akashaba Andrew, who rightfully claimed the Goalkeeper of the Season crown.
Most Valuable Player Race Heats Up
The MVP shortlist turned heads, featuring a mix of flair and fortitude. Kagwisagye Phillip, already a two-time award winner, leads the race alongside Ampuriire Romfield and defensive stalwart Twesigye Dauson, both from SC Kalele. Every league needs its breakout stories, and this year, Bethuel (Bonshe-Kafubs FC) walked away as the Most Improved Player, showcasing growth, determination, and undeniable impact.

Football is as much about the feel as the fight, and the league tipped its hat to the Smartest Team of the Season nominees: Abashwekyi FC(Winners), Bweras FC, Enshaza FC, and Nturi FC—each praised for their sleek appearances and organization.
When it came to integrity and fair play, Mugudu FC took home the honor, living up to the game’s highest values.
And in the digital era, presence matters—SC Kalele emerged as the Social Media Ambassadors, keeping fans updated and engaged all season long.
Masterminds on the Sidelines and Memorable Moments
Leading from the front, Ondeko Martin of Bonshe-Kafubs FC earned the Coach of the Season title, guiding his team with vision and tenacity.
The league’s defining image was also celebrated, with Karashani Davis immortalized in the Photo of the Season, defending a shot from Gnonto during the Kasasi vs Bonshe-Kafubs clash—a freeze-frame of passion and precision.
Chess Finalists: Strategic Minds
And beyond the pitch, the battleground of minds continued in the league’s chess competition. Ensayi emerged the winners defeating SC Jabulani adding their names to the history books.
